We are pleased to welcome you to the DOMAINE La Campagne, located in Pezenas, in Heart of Country Hérault, Languedoc-Roussillon, South of France.

Pézenas is a town steeped in history as evidenced by its historic center, lush mansions of the late Middle Ages and numerous mansions of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.

But the history of the city is much older since the origin of the name Pézenas dates back to Roman occupation; Pliny already extolled "Piscenae" for the water quality of the river, Peyne.

From 1262, Pézenas asserts itself when it enters the royal domain, after the crusade against the Albigenses, as a place of fairs until the mid-nineteenth century. Montmorency, Governors of the province of Languedoc, Pézenas make their capital.

States General - shifting assembly vote taxes to the King and oversees the administration of dioceses - frequently serve in Pézenas and attract a company that built beautiful mansions and houses of the field, real castles.
Under the protection of the Prince de Conti, Jean Baptiste Poquelin Molière said, and his companions of the Illustrious Theatre, forged with glory.

From 1653 to 1657, Molière and his friends feast on stuffing the Prince and his friends.

Molière would have found inspiration for some of them, sitting in the chair of his friend, the barber Gély, market place in Bled.

Its historic center, including its first speaker was one of the first areas protected by the law Malraux in 1965. This allowed a qualitative restoration of many mansions.

     Pézenas has evolved, developing its tourist attractions, while preserving its authenticity.
